SUMMARY:

REM sang, "Everybody Hurts." The Buddha said, "Life is dukkha / unsatisfactoriness." Jesus said, "In this life, you will have trouble." From the East to the West, from antiquity to the present day—suffering has been and continues to be an inevitable and universal part of the human experience. You are not alone. One of the greatest gifts you can offer yourself is to cultivate the skills you need to suffer wisely.

During our time together, you will learn the difference between pain and suffering, how to allow difficult thoughts and emotions to be present without identifying or becoming absorbed by them, and how to nurture difficult thoughts and emotions by turning toward them with a heart of compassion.

Whether you are supporting someone who is suffering, you are the one suffering, or you want to develop the tools to wisely engage with suffering when it will inevitably arise, this workshop is for you.

Practices include Vipassana Meditation, R.A.I,N Meditation, Metta Contemplation.
